Ḥazzan Saul P. Wachs, PhD, is Rosalyn B. Feinstein Professor Emeritus of Education and Liturgy at Gratz College, where he has taught since 1975. A graduate of the Cantors Institute of the Jewish Theological Seminary, which awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in Pedagogy, he holds BS, BSM, MA, and PhD degrees, as well as a Hebrew Teacher’s Diploma. Dr. Wachs has been the High Holy Day ḥazzan at Congregation Kehillath Israel of Brookline, MA, since 1972. He has lectured and taught in nearly 400 communities, serving as visiting professor and scholar-in-residence on five continents. [endtab]
